[영어회화] We are living in Pale Blue Dot in cosmos

Hello Everyone,

 

I remember that recently we talked about "Pale Blue Dot" by Carl Sagan,

Five years ago, I watched this video and was shocked because I felt like nothing.

I hope you watch this video. It is in Korean and fun to watch. 

Then, I want to talk about this topic as well as your thoughts on humanity.

1. What did you think after watching the video?

Actaully I had watched this video before but everytime when I watched this video again, definitely I felt same feeling as much as when I watch this first.

It is like I totally don't understand how we are living in this cosmos, how we suddenly show up in Earth.

 

In this video, Carl Sagan said we are living in small Pale Blue dot. 

It makes me really humble.

In my past, I really thought that I'm important person in life. 

I can put really big effect on people who is around me with over confiendce.

but since I figure out what uinverse is, I felt that I'm literally nothing.

so I chaged my mind that I need to be humble without over confience. and just feel every moment I live.

2. If you saw Earth from space, what do you think main problem in Earth?

(e.g politics, racism, environment, and so on)

Rencently I'm considering People's mind.

when I looked around people who is in leader of company or nation, everyone earger to take advantage from anything.

For example, few years ago, America made quote is "Great America again" which is based on storng nationalism.

and Middle East Asia like Saudi  Arabia still pull out oil to make their own profit.

It seems like they don't really care of agreement of environment because recently one study said using fossil fuel recored highest point in all time.

I can give you more example how human is selfish and we don't really care of people who is around me even our next generation.

 

So I think that If we overcome every bad situation which human is facing or will face, we need to take care of each other first.

 

3. What do you want to leave behind for the younger generation?

It's really hard to say because I have many things to leave for younger generation.

maybe firest one could be book which has many good advice of life.

I guess that it is like "Be kind to everyone", "live your life", "feel every single moment, happy, sad, joy"

I think that this is our basic instinction of human being.

So if they know how to live their life, or if they have any advice like this, then they will make better choice in their life.
