[제 29강] OPIC 교통 관련 문제

오늘 여러분들과 함께 공부할 OPIC 주제는 교통에 관련된 질문입니다.

한국에서는 대중교통이 잘되어 있어서 버스나 지하철, 기차를 사람들이 많이 타고 다니지만

다른 한편으로는 자가용 차도 많이 가지고 다녀서 교통이라는 주제에 대해서 많은 이야기를 준비할 수 있는 주제입니다.

Public transportation in Seoul is well organized. Where I live, there is a subway as well as many different buses.
Many people use buses and subways during rush hour when they commute because there is always full of traffic jams in the city.
Plus in Seoul, there is a bus lane in the middle of the road, so buses can go faster than any other transportation.
On the weekends, people generally drive their cars if they want to go on a day trip to outskirts of the city.
It's a hassle to take the public transportation when you go on a short trip near the city because there are fewer buses and subways run on the weekends.
Once again, I would say public transportation is very convenient in the city.

• Commute : 출퇴근
  travel some distance between one's home and place of work on a regular basis.
• Outskirt : 외곽
  the outer parts of a town or city.
  

교통에 관련된 첫 번째 질문은 우리나라에서는 어떤 대중교통을 이용하는지에 관련한 질문입니다.

처음에 말씀드린 것과 같이 버스, 지하철, 택시, 기차등 많은 대중교통이 편리하게 있다 보니 쉽게 답변을 준비할 수 있습니다.

예상 답안에서도 비슷하게 버스와 지하철이 있어 서울이라는 도시가 매우 편리한(Convenient) 하다고 설명하면서 

우리나라의 대중교통에 대해서 설명하고 있습니다.

여기에 내용을 추가하고 싶다면 대중교통에서 Wifi 를 사용할 수 있거나 합리적인 비용(Reasonable cost)으로 대중교통을 이용할 수 있다는 특징을 설명한다면 더욱 풍성한 답안이 될 수 있습니다.

I usually use public transportation during the week. I have to get to my office by 9 o'clock so I have to wake up early to catch the bus.
There is always bad congestion during rush hour so I have to take bus around 7:30. It usually takes about and hour or so and I want to avoid the traffic so I leave home early.
It is very convenient to take the buse because the bus stop is just 5 minutes away from my place.
Plus in Seoul, there is a bus lane in the middle of the road, so bus can go faster than any other transportation.

On the weekend, I usually drive my car. It's a hassle to take the public transportation when you go on a short trip near the city because there are fewer bus and subway run on the weekends. 
So I use both public transportation and my car.

두 번째 문제는 어떤 대중교통을 사용하는지 그리고 직접 운전을 하는지 또는 대중교통을 이용하는지 질문하는 내용입니다.

여기서 하나를 선택해서 집중적으로 답변을 준비할 수 있지만 직접 운전도 하고 대중교통도 이용한다고 말하면서 예상 답안처럼

더욱 길게 답변을 준비할 수 있습니다.

만약 대중교통과 자가용 운전 중에 하나만 선택한다면 어떤 이유로 내가 대중교통을 타는지 또는 자가용을 운전하는지 

구체적으로 답안을 준비하셔야 합니다.

Back in the day, I only used the public transportation. I usually took the bus to go to school because the bus stop is just 5 minutes away from my place. But there was no bus lane like today so it took longer during rush hour.
But now I use both public transportation and drive my car. Like I said, I catch the bus early in the morning to go to my office during the week and it became much faster beacause of the bus lane.
I also drive my car to go somewhere with my friends and family. It is more convenient to drive my car on the weekends because there are fewer cars on the road.
Transportation has been much faster than before.

 

마지막 문제는 과거의 대중교통을 이용할 때와 현재의 대중교통을 이용할 때의 비교를 말해야 하는 문제입니다.

저와 함께 계속해서 OPIC 공부를 해오신 독자분들이라면 이제 익숙할 수 있는 과거와 현재를 비교하는 문제입니다.

과거와 현재의 대중교통에 대한 차이를 말하는 예상답안을 준비할 수 있지만 다른 한편으로는 내가 과거에 어떤 대중교통을 이용했고 현재는 다른 대중교통을 이용하면서 느끼는 차이점과 상황의 차이를 설명해 주신다면 답안을 쉽게 암기할 수 있는 예상답안이 될 수 있습니다.

예상 답안에서는 과거에는 대중교통만 이용했지만 지금은 대중교통과 자가용을 함께 이용하면서 필요에 맞춰서 수단을 바꾼다고 이야기하고 있습니다.

하지만 자가용 차가 없는 독자의 경우에는 과거에는 Subway를 타서 빠르게 가는 게 중요했지만 최근에는 바깥 풍경을 보면서 가는 걸 선호해서 Bus를 많이 타고 있다고 답안을 준비하셔도 좋은 답안이 될 수 있습니다.
