[제 22강] OPIC 날씨 관련 질문

안녕하세요!

 

오늘 OPIC 시험을 위해서 공부할 주제는 날씨 관련 질문입니다.

날씨 관련 질문은 제 기억에는 돌발질문으로도 충분히 나왔을 때 답변을 할 수 있는 질문입니다.

예를 들어서 우리나라의 지형에 대해서 물어보는 질문이 돌발질문으로 나온다면 날씨 관련 답안을 준비했다면 

충분히 응용해서 답변을 할 수 있으니 날씨 관련 질문과 지형에 관련된 돌발 질문을 함께 준비한다면 

일석이조! 가 될 수 있습니다.

Unlike many other Asian countries, South Korea weather is fairly straightforward and easy to understand.
There are only minimal regional variations throughout the country, and the year divideds neatly into four distinct seaons.
There is a delightful spring, a muggy and wet summer, a breezy autumn, and a freezing cold, snowy winter.
The best time of year for me is summer

I like going to the beach in summer and Korea has tons of beautiful and exciting beaches.
There are a lot of stuff to do near the beach like swimming and snorkeling or you can just take a rest because it's a great place for just sitting and relaxing. I love all four distinct seasons in Korea.

• Straightforward : 직설적인
  uncomplicated and easy to do or understand.
  
  
• muggy : 습한
  (of the weather) unpleasantly warm and humid.

 

첫 번째 질문에서는 내가 살고 있는 지역의 날씨, 기후에 대해서 설명을 해야 하는 질문입니다.

위에서 말했던 것처럼 우리나라의 지형에 대해서 미리 공부했었더라면 쉽게 어렵지 않게 답변을 할 수 있습니다.

 

대표적으로 우리나라의 계절은 4계절이 있으니 4계절에 대해서 설명을 해주는 게 좋겠죠?

봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 각각 계절의 특징을 말해주고 가장 좋아하는 계절에 대해서 말해주는 게 자연스럽게 답변을 이어가는 방법입니다.

그리고 가장 좋아하는 이유로 그 계절의 activity를 함께 넣어서 답변을 한다면 1분 30초 정도는 순식간에 지나갈 수 있으니 답변을 하나하나 준비해 주시는 게 필요합니다!

When I was little, In Seoul, the summers were long, warm, muggy, wet, and partly cloudy.
I remember that there was a monsoon season for about a week or so and it was muggy and sticky.
We still have muggy summer with monsoon but days got longer and severe. 
Due to its rapid urban and industrial development in Korea, Climate change effects have been accelerated.

We are experiencing changes in climate such as annual temperature, and reainfall amouts.
For example, we had a lot of rainfall for abbout almost 50 days straight and there was a flood everywhere throughout the country.
Last year,
I remember that the summer was pretty mild when I was young but now we have hard time dealing with climate problems every year.

  a seasonal prevailing wind in the region of South and Southeast Asia, blowing from the southwest between May and September and bringing rain.
  
• Climate change : 기후변화

두 번째 질문은 과거의 날씨와 현재의 날씨의 차이점에 답변을 해야 하는 질문입니다.

다른 유형의 질문에서도 말했듯이 OPIC의 대표적인 문제 패턴입니다.

예상답안에서는 내가 가장 좋아하는 계절인 여름의 과거와 현재에 대해서 비교를 하고 있으며 변화된 원인으로

기후변화(Climate change)를 가지고 답변을 준비했습니다.

 

이 질문은 독자들이 준비하는 답안 주제에 따라서 답변이 크게 바뀔 수 있습니다. 기후변화로 인한 차이점을 설명할 수 있지만 과거 여름에는 해변에 놀러 가는 액티비티만 했다면 현재에는 외국으로 나가서 오히려 날씨가 추운 나라로 여행을 가기도 한다고 답변을 준비할 수 도있으니 자신이 자연스럽게 답변할 수 있는 주제를 선택해서 답안을 준비하셔야 합니다!

I remember going to the beach with my friends during the holidays two years ago.
We went to the beach called 해운대.
There was a famous music festival going on when I got there.
It was packed with mnay people and very lively. People were jumping and dancing to the music.
I saw the weather forecast that morning and they said there would be some scattered shower but nothing serious downpour in the afternoon.

However, while we were reaching to the epic moment of the concert, suddenly there was heavy rain, I mean literally it was poruing really hard.
I have nenver seen such a thing before. So everyone had to go inside.
I wanted to stay out and enjoyed the festival but I had no choice but to go inside.
I didn't get to enjoy the whole festival, but it was so much fun. 
Looking back, it was one of the most memorable event I had.

• Seriouse downpour : 심각한 폭우

마지막 질문은 기억에 남는 날씨에 대해서 설명을 하는 질문입니다.

이제 여러분들도 익숙해지셨겠지만 Memorable 한 기억에 대해서 말해줘라는 질문 패턴은 모든 문제 유형에서 나오는 질문입니다.

예상 답안에서는 콘서트에 놀러 갔었는데 갑자기 비가 와서 실내로 들어왔다는 내용이었습니다.

또 다른 예상 답안으로는 안 좋은 기억보다는 좋은 기억을 말하는 게 더욱 자연스럽게 답변할 수 있습니다.

 

저 같은 경우 지난번 시험에서는 생일에 시원하고 좋았던 날씨에 대해서 답변을 하면서 나의 수많은 생일 중에 가장 기억에 남는 생일이라고 답변을 마무리했었습니다
